| The spasmoneme contains membranous tubules that are known to store calcium (see Favard, P. and N. Carasso, J. Microscopie 3:671-696, 1964) and to be modified ER. The alveoli only partially surround the spasmoneme. EM taken on 2/15/72 by R. Allen with Hitachi HU11A TEM. Neg. 19,500X. Bar = 0.5µm. |
