| Vorticella convallaria fixed for EM and buffered in cacodylate. The rough ER (er) is not vesiculated as it is in collidine buffered fixatives but appears as sheets from which Golgi dictyosomes (dic) arise. A food vacuole (fv) is surrounded by primary lysosomes (cu) or cupulas. At the surface a continuous sheet of ER lies against the myonemes (my). m, mitochondrion. EM taken on 2/11/72 by R.
