Fig. 10: CV pore of proter

One of several CV pores of the proter of a dividing cell. This is presumably in an early stage of development as division is not yet complete. The CV pore, as is typical, is encased in microtubules (arrow) and a small CV is in place. Whether the CV is yet functional at this stage is not known although the pore septum (arrowhead) appears to be broken. The pore lies close to the division furrow in the proter. new pm, new plasma membrane? EM taken on 5/21/69 by M. Sage with Philips 300 TEM. Neg. 14,800X. Bar = 0.5µm.
