At the cytopharynx the acidosomes come in contact with the carrier vesicles that are derived from early endosomes. These carrier vesicles bind to the microtubular ribbons as do the acidosomes. The carrier vesicles will bind to the acidosomes and fuse with these acid-containing vesicles. disc, discoidal vesicles; ac, acidosome; cv, carrier vesicles; qar, quadrulus associated ribbons.
