The collapsed cytopharyngeal membrane extends from the open cytopharynx (see Fig. 24) into the cytosol. This membrane is associated with many docked acidosomes (ac), vesicles that contain V-type proton translocating ATPases and cause the acidification of the phagosome after they fuse with the phagosome. disc, discoidal vesicles.
