Posterior end of the buccal cavity with a nascent phagosome attached
to the cytopharynx. The ribbed wall has ended and the cytopharynx is
greatly reduced. The quadrulus goes to the end of the buccal cavity
but the peniculi have ended, one or two rows of cilia at a time. The
filamentous reticulum still covers the floor of the buccal cavity.
Acidosomes (ac) are bound to the nascent phagosome and bundles
of postoral microtubules lie close to the right edge of the developing
phagosome. Higher magnification micrographs of selected details of the
oral region follow. EM taken on 1/31/74 by R. Allen with Hitachi HU11A
