In conventional freeze-fracture replicas the closed cytoproct (cyp) forms a wavy ridge dividing the left and right posterior ventral aspects of the cell. A double row of intra-membrane particles (IMPs) welds the plasma membrane to the underlying alveolar membranes. EM taken on 6/3/75 by R. Allen with Hitachi HU11A TEM. Neg. 5,500X. Bar = 1µm.
