| Monoclonal antibody to antigen L1 specifically labels DV-II and acidosomes but not lysosomes. Lysosomes (ly) are osmotically active so they tend to shrink when the cell is exposed to hyperosmotic fixative as occurred here. This vacuole was 5-8 min. old and contained 0.8µm latex beads. EM taken on 3/26/92 by R. Allen with Zeiss 10A TEM. Neg. 19,800X. Bar = 0.2µm. |
