| In cells exposed to a brief electric shock in the presence of HRP one hour before fixation secondary lysosomes will acquire HRP reaction product. HRP enters the trichocyst ghosts, the membrane remaining when the trichocyst bodies are discharged during the shock. These ghosts vesiculate into vesicles and these vesicles eventually fuse with the secondary lysosomes. EM taken on 3/3/83 by R. Allen with Hitachi HU11A TEM. Neg. 10,250X. Bar = 0.5µm. |
