During division a constriction forms at the equator of the mother
cell. A filamentous actin-like band (arrows) is found at the
leading edge of this constriction. By this time a new oral region is
developing in the opisthe complete with membranelles and an undulating
membrane (um). The macronucleus is stretched out and divided by
a process called amitosis. A remnant of the nuclear envelope of the
elongated macronucleus is visible (ne) near this constriction.
